John Greenoak came to Newtown early in the 18th century from England. His son John located at a farm near Hallets Cove which was afterwards owned by Higgins the carpet manufacturer. John's son John came into possession of an estate at Hallets Cove, which was afterwards knownas the H.T. Blackwell's place. [handwritten on page]
