Description Close up shot of the "Quadriga" sculpture on top of the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Arch at Grand Army Plaza. The arch was designed by John H. Duncan in 1889 while the sculptures were designed by Frederick MacMonnies in 1894. The "Quadriga" depicts the lady Columbia, who represents the United States, surrounded by two winged Victories who trumpet her arrival.
