Youngs' Homestead on Main [?] Road. Probably the oldest house on the north shore. Headquarters of [George] Washington. The bedroom in which Washington slept during one night has been kept in exactly the same as it was then. The original owner was Thomas Youngs, son of Reverend John Youngs, who settled Southold. Thomas Youngs built this house in Oyster Bay Cove in 1656. Family burial plot nearby. [handwritten on page]
