"In the year 1662 the dwellings of 'het dorp,' [?] then not more then twenty five, were sixteen acres of land, enclosed with a high pallisade of sharpened logs for protection from hostile Indians.
This enclosed the four corners of the crossing of KyKout and Woodpoint roads and the site of the church." [hand written on page]
